Excellent, excellent, they change a lot their sound, but still easy recognizable maybe because the vocals.
Total lack of distortion, but full of ancient proud and felling,I think this is the perfect follow up of Luxcitanea.
The opening track "Samhain" is blow-minding, the guitar work is very good and the vocal performance in this one is perfect!
The all album have very beautiful lines of guitar work, the bass is good to, but a bit out of the folk feel the album emanate at times, without compromising the final work, percussion is very well played, highlighting in "Cariocecus". Oestrymnis have a very warlike feel, the evocative "Sol Invictus", the epic "Aliança Granítica" with ann amazing bass line, and the peacefull "Nostra terra pétrea" close this cd perfectly. The production fit perfectly the sound.
Lyrically, Hrödulf overcame all the previous works, beautiful stories of honor, glory and war always with the typical pagan feel.
The only bad point is the duration, very short. Waiting for more...

As minhas felicitações caras, continuem detonando!!

Every now and then people like me who listen to new music every single day want something different. It helps freshen the palette and even allow your horizons to grow to see what else the wondrous world of music has to offer outside of metal and rock. For me, I’ve explored the realms of ambiance, Darkwave, and noise in my fair time, but only once have I investigated the realm of folk. It’s quite the peculiar world, to say the least, and today I sought to expand my views
of the genre and Azagatel like Àrnica was a great help in showing me what else folk has to offer.
Folk metal has always had a special allure me and I always had a sneaking suspicion that normal folk would still retain that sense of mysticism to a great degree, and for the most part that’s true. Sure, there are some bands that fall flat, but it’s groups like Azagatel truly show us what can be done with the style. Yet, Azagatel doesn’t do typical folk but instead does neo-folk, and I’m not familiar enough with the style (yet) to tell a major difference but there’s a clear, specific taste with “SOL”, and it’s quite exquisite. Despite the first track being a little different from the rest, the experience of “SOL” is an authentic one that really accomplishes the task of taking a martial war feel and welding it with traditional guitar folk melodies with giant vocal amplitude, from aggressive to clean singing. From the chanting vocals, hypnotic rhythms, and other-worldly atmosphere that is constantly being evoked with this small piece. This is the sort of record that really peaks the human curiosity that can only be satiated by only going further into this...
