Svartsyn studio report

Swedish Black Metal band Svartsyn are scheduled to release a new full length album soon, which is titled "Black Testament". The album will be released through Polish label Agonia Records on the 28th of May in Europe, with a North American release date set for the 11th of June. "Black Testament" will mark the band's eighth full length album.

Altar of Plagues reveal album details

Irish Black Metal band Altar of Plagues will soon be releasing their third full length album. The album will be titled "Teethed Glory and Injury", and is scheduled to be released on the 30th of April in North America through Canadian label Profound Lore Records, while the European release will be handled by Candlelight Records.

Enthroned announce new album

Belgian Black Metal veterans Enthroned have just announced that a new full length album is in the works. The new album will be the band's 10th full length, and it's release will coincide with their 20th anniversary. Their last album, "Obsidium", was released in March of last year.

New Nocte Obducta album out now

German Avant-Garde Black Metal band Nocte Obducta have finally released their latest full length album this week, which is titled "Umbriel (Das Schweigen zwischen den Sternen)", which translates to "Umbriel (The Silence Between the Stars)". The album was originally planned to be released around May 2012, however the release date was postponed several times for unknown reasons. The album was finally released on March the 8th, and is the band's ninth full length to date.

New Wolfchant album out now

German Pagan / Folk Metal band Wolfchant have recently released a new full length album, titled "Embraced by Fire". The album marks the band's fifth full length album, and a follow up to their 2011 album "Call of the Black Winds". The album was released on the 1st of March through NoiseArt Records.

Debut Paganland album out now

Ukrainian Pagan Black Metal band Paganland have just released their debut full length album last week. The album is titled "Wind of Freedom" and is the band's first release of any kind since the "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors / Carpathia" split album they released in 2008 with fellow Ukrainians Tini Zabutyh Predkiv. The album was released through Ukrainian label Svarga Music on the 4th of March.

New Darkthrone album out now

Darkthrone, one of the pioneering bands of Norwegian Black Metal, have finally released "The Underground Resistance", their latest full length album and without a doubt one of the most anticipated releases of the year. At least for me, anyway. I wouldn't be telling the truth if I said that I gave a single fuck about what anyone else thinks about the album, as more than half of the "opinions" floating around on the conveniently anonymous internet are nothing more than teenage bedroom warriors, driven by that classic teenage desire to be popular, jumping on the Let's-Hate-Darkthrone bandwagon.

Burzum announces new instrumental album

Varg Vikernes has recently revealed on his website that he is preparing new material that will be released under the Burzum project. It will consist of a full length album, although unlike the other albums he has produced since his release from prison in 2009, this album is set to be a purely instrumental and electronic one.

The album's title is "Sôl Austan, Mâni Vestan", which translates from Norse into English as "East of the Sun, West of the Moon". The track list for the album has already been made available, although no cover art has been published yet:

New Aosoth album announced

French Black Metal band Aosoth have been working on a new full length album over the last few months, and it is finally nearing completion. The album is titled "IV: An Arrow in Heart" and will mark the band's fourth official full length release, although they did release an instrumental version of their latest album, bringing the total of full lengths to five. "IV: An Arrow in Heart" will be released through Polish label Agonia Records on the 16th of April.

Sodom reveal cover art and tracklist for upcoming album

German Thrash legends Sodom played a key role in the early years of the Black Metal scene, influencing an endless array of bands with their distinctive brand of Teutonic Black / Thrash Metal in the early 80's together with fellow Germans Kreator and Destruction. They are still going strong to this day, and a 14th Sodom album is on the horizon, the final details of which have finally been revealed.
