New Graveland full-length, "Hour of Ragnarok", to be released on the 9th of August

Polish legends Graveland have recently updated more details for their new full-length album and announced the release date. It's scheduled to be released on the 9th of August through The Oath Records, Inferna Profundus Records, Forever Plagued Records and White Wolf Productions.

According to the Official Graveland Homepage, the songs for the album were created over the last three years. Also, they mention that the reason for this delay is that "It took a long time to compose and record the symphonic back tracks that makes up the epic background in music".

This album will be ... [»]

New Mayhem EP, "Atavistic Black Disorder / Kommando", to be released on the 9th of July

Norwegian pioneers Mayhem have just announced that they are scheduled to release a new EP on the 9th of July through Century Media Records.

The new release will be split into two halves, with the first half featuring three songs originally from the "Daemon" recording sessions, and the second half featuring four covers of some punk classics.

We're releasing this essentially as a split EP, to highlight the duality of the featured material, and with dual cover artwork to accommodate, courtesy of Daniele Valeriani.

Here is a closer look at the aforementioned artwork by Daniele ... [»]

Norwegian veterans Darkthrone have recently revealed the details for their upcoming studio album, which will be titled "Eternal Hails......", and is scheduled for release on the 25th of June through Peaceville Records.

The album's artwork is originally from a painting by British artist David A. Hardy titled "Pluto and Charon", and dates back to 1972:

Site Update 0.27: User Accounts, User Reviews, Forum & More...

So, a lot of changes just went live on the site, and while they are too numerous to list in their entirety, I will touch briefly on the most important ones:

User accounts

You can now register an account on the site. Many of the site's features will require you to be logged in, including posting comments. Gone are the days of anonymous shitposting. User accounts come with all the basic functionality you would expect from your average website/forum, although a lot of it is "old school" in nature. A valid e-mail address is required for activating your account.

There are a few ... [»]

New Poll Regarding Mobile Usability

For any mobile users, I've just added a new poll to the site (bottom right on any news page) to gauge how well the site is doing so far on your mobile devices.

If it turns out to be fairly useless on mobile I will either make a separate mobile version or most likely just make it more mobile friendly. In the not-so-immediate future.

Also, big thanks to everyone who submitted a bug report on April 1st. [»]

50,000 Albums

Posted by Imperator on 26th November, 2019 @ 00:00 UTC

We recently surpassed the 50,000 album mark (well... 50,000 albums, EPs, demos, compilations, promos, and the odd rehearsal, live recording and single that got dragged into the mix) bringing the total number of releases featured on the site to 50,117 at the time of writing this.

That's quite a step up from the 100 albums originally featured when the site was first launched over 8 years ago. We've come a long way since then, so here's to another 50,000! If my estimates are correct, we'll reach that milestone in about 2031.

Of course, this couldn't have been achieved without you, the ... [»]
