"How can all this be the product of one man's imagination?"

It's exactly what I thought and keep thinking when I listen this album. Genius.

"...is Black Metal's answer to Mozart, Beethoven and Wagner" Ignorance is a bless! Shit review although i like "Soliloquy of the Stigmatised Sheperd" as well...

I hear it all night long and I must say it really deserves to be the #1. Anyway the beginning of the review is still retarded.

This really paints a vivid picture in my mind while listening to it, far more so than anything else I have listened to within the genre of black metal. The fact that Ruins of Beverast is just one person project really is unbelievable. I'm going to check out other albums by this musician/artist. Alexander Mielenwald? I salute you.

I listened to this album for the first time about a week ago, and I can't seem to stop playing it nonstop. This is some of the most well composed and emotionally draining music I have ever heard.

Actually a fantastic album. But you have to preparew yourself with plenty of ambient black metal in advance, then give this one a few spins.

Only then will you be rewarded. An amazing listen.

Rain Upon The Impure deserved to be the best black metal album because it simply amazing album from the atmospheric, dark, mysterius feeling and amazing through long journey of a record.
A genius one man project by von Meilenwald.

By the way, what black metal bands or albums do you like Bamahammer and Marcos?

Pretty boring album, really. I wouldn't listen to it again. I have no idea where these high ratings come from but don't kid yourselves, this is not the best black metal album, not even close.

Although an un-conventional starter, this was the first black metal album I ever listened to attentively. Its a black abyss in the form of music, and truly one of the most befittingly 'atmospheric' BM albums out there. Its not for everyone, but I do applaud it being chosen as no. 1

‹‹ #32 ›› By Anti on Oct 5th, 2016 @ 4:46 GMT

This album obviously appeals to a lot of people, and maybe it does deserve to be first in some sort of universe, but I just don't see it.
It's a very impressive album, no doubt about it, but for me personally it just doesn't grab me. In fact, despite the many different movements and moments, I find it all a bit unexciting. I'll make sure I come back to it from time to time though because it's a huge work to unpack.

‹‹ #45 ›› By titanite shard on Mar 7th, 2019 @ 15:29 GMT

Wow it's been awhile since I've visited and impure is still no.1
This is a great album no doubt and I've listened many times but I feel a couple of tracks could have been trimmed so the album length comes in between 40-50 mins.
Nice vocals on this.

Well, one thing to take into consideration is that we haven't rated or reviewed any albums for about 6 years. When we get back in gear, this album might finally be dethroned.

When are yall coming back ? Your ratings are on point, and I doubt this album will be dethroned, but would be nice to see some new albums on the top 100 like Liber Lvcifer from Thy Darkened Shade, that album is 10/10.

‹‹ #54 ›› Reply to #53 by Imperator on Nov 18th, 2019 @ 10:54 GMT

Possibly near the end of next year (although I've been saying that for some years). Thanks for your appreciation!

‹‹ #48 ›› By Titanite Shard on Apr 1st, 2019 @ 14:31 GMT

Six years! well that would account for it.
Hey don't get me wrong I'm not saying it does not deserve no.1
I can see why this album is top and it's the best Beverast album by far for me.
It really is a skull crusher and may not be dethroned.
